The Annual Construction Science Expo is a key component of the school-based Navigation to Success Program, Michigan’s largest life skills initiative. To qualify for attendance, students must complete 15 evidence-based life skills modules, commit to remaining drug- and violence-free, and participate in a community service project through one of three pathways: Safe Routes, Drug-Free Homes, or Healthy Arts (including poetry, spoken word, drama, drawing, or painting). In addition to introducing students to skilled trades and career opportunities, participation in the Expo also provides access to potential summer employment, co-op opportunities, and merit-based college scholarships.
The Black Caucus Foundation of Michigan (BCFM) is a non-partisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to research-driven public policy, leadership development, and community initiatives that improve quality of life for underserved and vulnerable populations across Michigan.
